Description:
A factory letter accompanies this fabulous Model 57 confirming the rare configuration and detailing its original shipment on January 19, 1965 to International Distributors in Miami, Florida. This flat out gorgeous 1st Year Production .41 Magnum is equipped with a 6” barrel, rare original nickel finish and the checkered Goncalo Alves diamond target stocks AKA 'Cokes’. Take special note of the ultra-rare prototype display case which was only ever used on a few guns during early production. Most Model 57’s built in the first year of production were shipped in Mahogany display cases with velour lining. This was the only model that featured this experimental case style and is one of only a small handful ever used. These are the same size and feature the same interior fabric as the black display cases used on the .44 Magnums. The exterior is a thin vinyl woodgrain print. Note the case hardware is unique to this prototype as well. These are extremely interesting and historically significant for the model and given the rarity this will be an excellent investment!
The gun is in outstanding original condition and rates 99%++ on any scale! The nickel is bright and clear and the ‘Cokes’ are beautifully figured. Absolutely, positively no upgrade ever!
