Description:
Here is a very cool collectible vintage Winchester Model 1902 "02" single shot bolt action rifle chambered in .22 LR but will also shoot shorts and longs. This rifle is shootable but shows plenty of patina for being nearly 100 years old. This rifle is marked "02" on the barrel which signifies that it was built sometime after February 1919. The barrel is 18" and actually looks pretty good compared to the rest of the rifle. Shows some faint pitting near the muzzle end of the bore but otherwise the rifling is crisp and shiny. Has both the front and rear iron sights. The stock is still in sound condition but it does show battle scars all over from years of use. Also, the stock is a little loose and does not fit snugly to the action/barrel. Length of pull is about 13.5" to the factory plastic butt plate. There is light pitting all over the outside of the barrel and it has been refinished at some point with a gray coating of some sort. The action works good and has a nice strong firing pin spring. Overall I would call this rifle a cool vintage plinker with plenty of patina. See our pictures and if you have any questions please call Justin or Ben at Olde West (530)243-8334.
