Description:
Up for your consideration is an absolutely stunning 1st Generation Colt SAA chambered in .32WCF. This revolver was manufactured in Hartford in 1900 and is one of the first years of the smokeless cartridge SAA revolvers. Fitted with a 4.75in barrel, this gun bears matching numbers on the frame, butt, and cylinder. All bearing #192462 which places it in the 1900 range. The cylinder bears the last 3 digits of the serial number, being "462". Only the load gate is not matching, which is a common sight on these older SAA revolvers. This gun is also factory lettered by Colt stating its original date of manufacture, barrel length, and caliber. A note of interest is the original store it was shipped to, Hibbard, Spencer & Bartlett & Co. The Hibbard, Spencer & Bartlett & Co stores were prevelent during the late 1800's to early 1900's. In 1932 the company released the "True Value" line of tools. Eventually the company folded and sold the "true Value" name to John Cotter in 1962. And the True Value Hardware name is still prevelent today. The hammer features a border around the knurling on the hammer, as they did not do away with this feature until 1906. In addition to this, the trigger guard lacks the "VP" proof of later guns. The original case color hardened finish is nothing short of spectacular, with only minor wear on the backstrap and medium wear on the front strap. Case color is strong on both sides of the frame, as well as on the hammer, barrel, and trigger guard. The only notable wear on the cylinder is a light turn line that is only cosmetic. The bore is like new with bright shiny walls, and deep grooves. The chambers are also very clean with smooth walls and no carbon buildup. The interior of the frame is excellent, with case coloring present throughout and light carbon buildup near the top of the frame. All stamps on this classic pistol are deep and clear, with all patent marks, and serial numbers remaining as deep as when new. The grips are also excellent with only a small chip on the left side. A picture says a thousand words, and with this gun, that is no exception. We have tried our best to photograph and document the condition of the pistol to the best of our abilities. Fans of Python, Diamondback, Singer, King Cobra, Viper, Boa, Colt Custom Shop, Colt 1911 pistols.
