Description: ***SOLD*** Springfield Armory Model 1903 Mark I .30-06 bolt action US Military service rifle, with the receiver dated to late 1918. The Model 1903 Mark I was designed to accept the illustrious Pedersen Device, which converted the Mark I 1903 into a semi automatic pistol caliber rifle, ideal for trench warfare in WWI. This 1903 Mark I has the tell-tale ejection port cutout in the left side of the receiver, as shown. The rifle has been re-arsenaled for the 2nd World War, as many of these rifles were. The rifle has been rebarreled (9-42 stamp), and the locking cam mechanism and plunger, designed to fix the Pedersen Device in the gun, as well as the dual sear mechanism, were removed and replaced with standard parts. The stock appears to have been replaced as well, as it bears the AAJ cartouche, and does not have the proper cutout under the ejection port on the left side. Despite having been re-arsenaled, this is still a wonderful example of a Model 1903 Mark I, and would make for an excellent addition to your WWII Small Arms collection! Please refer to the photos prior to purchase. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Springfield Armory Model: Model 1903 Mark I Serial Number: 1036711 Caliber Info: .30-06 |
