New items added daily! Description: This is an original, and very rare variation Springfield model 1903 rifle made in 1915. This is a rare variation due to the flaming bomb "RIA" stamp on the floorplate, designating this as an early "NRA Sales Rifle". These rifles were sold by the D.C.M. only to N.R.A. members between 1913-1916. The rifle is all original and in the original configuration. The original inspector stamp on the wood "J.S.A." is still visible on the stock. The wood has no major cracks or chips. Excellent overall wood with only some very minor dings. The metal is in original condition as well, with most of the finish still in tact. There is some thinning on the front sight and barrel, as well as the rear sight and bolt assembly. Excellent receiver bluing. The floorplate and trigger guard show discoloration and speckling along with finish loss, but no active rust or pitting. The bore has strong rifling, but shows signs of use and patina throughout (as is expected with 100+ year old military rifles). Bore is 6/10 overall.
