Payment Types Accepted: money order Description: If you are looking for a classic old west rig from the 1870s, this is it. The 1851 Navy as suffered a bit cosmetically (but at 170 years old, who wouldn't?). There is some pitting, mostly on the barrel. The bore is surprisingly good- probably a 7 or an 8. The safety notch is there but doesn't hold if you pull the trigger. The full cock works fine with tight lock-up. Again, surprisingly, a fair amount of original varnish is still on the grips. The action is strong and smooth. Given some .38 Short Colt cases with soft hollow base bullets and black powder loads, I think this is shootable but get a gunsmith to say so before you shoot it. The main fix needed is to recut the halfcock notch. This a blacksmith conversion obviously probably done on the frontier for a man who needed a gun but had neither the money or the time to wait for a factory conversion. The holster has been with the gun forever and looks it. The leather is still soft and flexible but it probably won't do for concealed carry. No C&R or ffl required for most states. $35 shipping and insurance to your door.
