Description:
Before I give specific details on this Parker, I will explain a few things. First, I am NOT a Parker collector. But I have been collecting high quality guns for over 50 years. It is a long story how I came to own this Parker.(Too long to print in this ad.) I will gladly verbally give the story to the new owner,
   What makes this gun special is that this gun was actually used for most of its 109 years. The gun was made in 1911 for a New England doctor, It stayed in the Vermont area until I brought it to Michigan.
    As the saying goes "if this gun could talk" it would proudly relate the countless grouse and woodcock that it dropped.
The gun shows careful use and has finish loss in all the usual places. Case coloring is mostly silvering except in protective areas.
 The gun retains 90% of its original barrel blueing, Thinning at the breech from opening and closing. Case coloring faded dramatically if the gun was used as intended. Guns that were safe queens retained the colors. My guess is that Parker used a Cyanide process which faded more rapidly than the bone charcoal method. (I am sure the Parker experts will set me straight.)
  Now to the gun itself:
  It has the desireable 28 inch barrels. (this helps make the gun point well)
  Barrels are Vulcan Steel (no dents)
  Bores are bright & shiny some very light roughness just ahead of chambers
  Stocks have most of the original finish, No cracks or repairs, A small chip is missing at the end of the top tang.

  The barrels retain most of their original blueing.
   Original Dogs Head Buttplate is excellent, Has one small chip on left side.
   Original Parker grip cap.
   Checkering is still crisp on buttstock, But shows typical wear on forend.
    Gun is "on face". Locks-up tight as new with or without the forend attached,
     Weight is 6 pounds even.
     Frame is stamped O
      Serial Number is 152279
     Chambers are 2&3/4 inches.
      LOP is 13 &5/8 inches
      DAC = 1&5/8 inches.
      DAH = 2&7/8 inches

                 Summary:
                 This Parker is as "Honest" as they come! It has been used but received great care by its previous owners over the last 100 years.
                 It is ready to take to the field, and if properly cared for will last another 100 years.
                 Even though it would take high power loads.(not magnums), I would recommend RST 2&1/2 inch( in their loads called LITE.)
                 These loads pattern great!
        This is a terrific price on a great gun, You will not find a better Parker 20 at this price.
         Price Reduction to $2500.. Shipping is 75. (insurance extra) Please Note: Due to issues in the USPS, I will no longer accapt any form of Payment by or through the United States Postal System.
