When I came back from Vietnam I wanted to do some more serius long distance shooting. I went to a local Bronx, New York sporting goods shop run by a close friend. He suggested that I visit Charley Flaigs shop near Pittsburgh. I was impressed by many of the firearms I saw on my visit and decided to have Flaig make me a custom rifle centered around a Douglas semi-bull barrel with a FN Mauser (Belgium) action. His company did some beautiful glass bedded custom Fajens stocks. Since I intended to to use the gun primarily in long range varmint hunting. When I received the gun I took it to Thumder Mountain range and after sighting "rang the bell" five times at 1000 yards -- it is a real shooter.
