The pommel is the Alcoso type with a thin neck and a flared top, while the crossguard is the style first used in about 1937. Each retains very fine and complete silvering. The guard shows a bit of wear to the head and breast of the bird, but is otherwise crisp. The pommel is in similar condition. The grip is an extremely deep orange color and remains in perfect condition. The scabbard is also a textbook Alcoso piece. It is straight throughout, the pebbling remains crisp, and the throat is retained by a pair of flat head screws. The blade of this example is nice and bright, showing almost no age at all. It retains good crossgrain and has a few runner marks. The tip is needle-like. The reverse ricasso is etched with the 1937-1940 Alcoso Scales trademark and the original leather blade washer is in place. A great looker here, with an outstanding grip. Celluloid is chemically volatile and almost always will change color, but it is rare to see an example this dramatic. Hand guns must travel via Air, whilst long guns and other items can go via Ground. Non-firearm accessories, such as magazines, can be shipped via USPS Priority Mail at the customer's request.
