Description:
General Specs: Abbiatico & Salvinelli (FAMARS), Year 2004, 12 ga, 8lbs 2oz, Chokes 32" = Mod/Full, 30" = IC/Mod
Serial Number: F0345

What a fantastic work of art this gun is, built in 2004 when Abbiatico & Salvinelli were making their finest shotguns, before the expansion in the late 2000's as FAMARS.  Most knowledgeable shotgun experts acknowledge Abbiatico & Salvinelli (A & S) guns from this period as some of the finest shotguns ever made, with meticulous polishing and fitting internally, awesome wood and 28 lpi checkering, and of course that engraving!  A & S is often credited with establishing the Italian artisans (and the art of bulino style engraving) as the pinnacle of firearms engraver's world globally.  This gun was engraved by Alberto Pusolini, an acknowledged master engraver who often worked on $100,000 guns, including Ivo Fabbri sidelock over/under guns.  The engraving is elegant and stunning.  The floral and vine scroll is deep relief engraved with shaded backgrounds.  The bulino game scenes are minutely detailed, bringing the artful scenes to life to commemorate the sporstman’s passions.  This gun is an Excalibur Sideplate drop lock over/under that retails for $32,150.  It shipped with a list of extra cost options that includes: a second set of 12 gauge barrels ($7500), upgraded game scene engraving on both sides and the bottom plate ($4850), an extra drop out trigger group ($4600), both trigger groups are selective single triggers ($1200 ea), and extra firing pins and springs ($400), bringing the retail price to $51,900.  There is no wear on this gun, with 99.5% blue and factory finish overall, perfect checkering and only a few handling marks on the EXHIBITION TURKISH WALNUT stocks.  This gun was fitted with two different Kick Eeze recoil pads, the longer one adding an extra ½” LOP compared to the one mounted on the gun and specified in the stock dimensions below.  I WOULD SUGGEST PUTTING A FINE PIGSKIN LEATHER COVERED PAD ON THIS GUN TO DRESS IT UP.  We will wait until it has a new owner to fit the pad to his/her taste and needs.  A leather covered pad is far more elegant on such an artful gun and cost an added $650 to install properly.  Building a two-barrel set with two different barrel lengths (30” & 32”) and getting the gun to balance and weigh the same with either set is no easy task and shows the attention to detail of this premier gunmaker.  The gun weighs 8lbs. 2oz. and balances dead on the hinge pin with either barrel set attached.  The A & S over/under is built on a Boss style action with a hand-detachable drop-out trigger group allowing one to change the firing mechanism of the gun in the event of a mechanical failure in less than 30 seconds with no tools…very important in competitive shooting arenas.  This gun shows new in all ways and is being offered at almost 1/2 the price of ordering a new FAMARS and you have no long wait for your bespoke gun to be delivered.  The gun is priced to sell, and it is a very solid investment quality gun that will be a pleasure to shoot at game or targets.  Thanks for looking!
