U.S. Springfield Model 1795 Type II. Metal is bright with salt and pepper patina on the surface. Both lock and butt plate are dated 1806. Stock shows handling and usage wear with splintered chips missing in the left side of the forend. Stock has the initials “RSB” and a cross with two dots carved into the stock.
