Description:
SOLD An early 1700's Dutch type flintlock original Ship's captain blunderbuss. Overall length is about 34" long, with a working well Dutch flilock and iron furniture . HAs an early tulip iron ram-rod . The butt-stock is more a Diutch style than other coiuntries of that time, with fluted carving, and an iron butt-plate that is original and fits very well. The one pce. stock is Europen walnut with burl up closer to the muzzle and a small area of an early repair as seen in the photos.The 20" barrel is octagonal into round, with no proof marks. Thois is an early style lock with an frizzen screw not attached to the pan. The goose neck hammer and jaw, screw all look original in color, age and patina .A most colorful blunderbuss that's still working well. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.
