Serial Number: F0315

What a fantastic work of art this gun is, built in 2002 when Abbiatico & Salvinelli (or FAMARS, Fabbrica Armi d'Abbiatico e Salvinelli) were making their finest shotguns.  Most knowledgeable shotgun experts acknowledge Abbiatico & Salvinelli (A & S) guns from this period as some of the finest shotguns ever made, with meticulous polishing and fitting internally, awesome wood and 28 lpi checkering, and of course that engraving!  This gun was engraved by Aldo Rizzini in 2001, an acknowledged master engraver known the world over. The engraving is a tribute to the fallen Patriots that gave their lives during the 9/11/2001 attack on the Twin Towers.  The engraving is elegant fine scroll with a bulino scene depicting the American flag  The gun is housed in a masterpiece furniture quality display case made of finely figured, book-matched English walnut, custom fit in a unique manner to house the gun with its two sets of barrels and all the accessories.  THE CASE ITSELF IS A WORK OF ART AND A STUNNING DISPLAY FOR THIS IMPORTANT, ARTFUL TRIBUTE TO THE SOULS OF 9/11.  The gun is a Famars Excalibur drop lock over/under that retails for $30,450.  It shipped with a list of extra cost options that includes: a second set of 12 gauge barrels ($7500), upgraded engraving on bottom plate ($1100), and thin wall screw-in chokes ($1870), bringing the retail price of the gun to $40,920.  The value of the case is over $2500, bringing the retail value of this package to $43,420.  There is no wear on this gun, with 99.5% blue and factory finish overall, perfect checkering and only a few handling marks on the EXHIBITION TURKISH WALNUT stocks.  The gun has a LOP of 14 ¾” terminating in an attractive and well-done leather covered pad.  A leather covered pad is far more elegant on such an artful gun and welcome during extended periods of shooting.  Building a two-barrel set with two different barrel lengths (29.5” & 32”) and getting the gun to balance and weigh the same with either set is no easy task and shows the attention to detail of this premier gunmaker.  The gun weighs 7lbs. 15oz. and balances dead on the hinge pin with either barrel set attached.  The A & S over/under is built on a Boss style action with a hand-detachable drop-out trigger group allowing one to clean and maintain (or exchange) the firing mechanism of the gun in the event of a mechanical failure in less than 30 seconds with no tools…very important in competitive shooting arenas.  This gun shows new in all ways and is being offered at less than 1/2 the price of ordering a new FAMARS and you have no long wait for your bespoke gun to be delivered.  PLEASE NOT THAT WE WILL REMOVE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS NAME PLATE AND PERSONALIZE THIS CASE TO THE NEW OWNER AS PART OF THE PRICE.  IT WILL HAVE YOUR NAME ENGRAVED IN THE CASE WHERE APPROPRIATE.  The gun is priced to sell, and it is a very solid investment quality gun that will be a pleasure to shoot at game or targets.  Thanks for looking!
