Description:
INDIAN TRADE MUSKET .72 Caliber Gun BRITISH Proofed Smoothbore

Early- to Mid-19th Century

Here we present an antique Large Bore Flintlock rifle made circa the early to mid-1800s in Birmingham, England. England was once a manufacturing center for the world’s arms trade. This was possibly produced for sale and trade to native tribespeople. It would have been made in the flintlock format before being updated to the percussion firing system. Traders were usually careful to sell only obsolescent firearms to the natives so that they could maintain the upper hand should tensions rise. This massive percussion musket features a gaping .72 caliber bore.

The overall condition is fair. The action functions, but the nipple is missing. The bore is good. All visible cracks are stable. An interesting piece of history!

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 37 inches.

Caliber: .72

Overall condition as seen in photos.
