Description:
Here is a nice 1863 New Model Sharps rifle. There is some barrel blue remaining and all the case colors are "silvered."
The wood is all there although dented and well used. It has a good strong shootable bore and all parts function well.
It has a faint cartouche and other ID marks. The "EPR" on the side of the barrel next to the receiver is for EDWARD P. RICHARDSON -The Ordinance sub-inspector It has an inlaid black star, which is identifying it with a particular unit. This is seen on several CW weapons although I cannot say which unit. This has been used in reenacting and N-AAS events.
It is a good  Sharps rifle for having, shooting and collecting and it is very reasonable in price.
