Description:
This is a WWI holster for the 1911, .45 pistol manufactured by Rock Island Arsenal and dated 1916. The outer flap is unit marked "CA7" for Coastal Artillery number 97. These coastal artillery units saw front line action during the war and were in charge of some mobile and railway artillery. The holster is in good condition with sound stitching, supple leather with some crazing and finish loss along with mild verdigris on the brass elements.
