Description:
***   SOLD   ***   Vintage oak & leather single shotgun case made circa 1895 in the late Victorian era and marked for the No. 2 gun of a pair. It accepts barrels up to 30" and a length of pull up to 15". The case has a red stripe on the exterior often employed to more easily identify the regiment of its owner. In addition it has labels on one end for Waterloo Station and an address. The exterior shows wear typical for its age but despite a few rough places the case is in solid condition. The red baize interior also shows wear but the partitions are well anchored. The latch works but as usual no key. The leather on the straps and the handle are in good condition as are the hinges. Please note that a fitted period case typically requires some adjustment to fit your prized double. This well made case exudes the romance of the late 1800's and would be a great way to display and carry your favorite double.   ***   Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and related charges. Three day inspection. Return at buyer's expense.
