This is an extremely rare firearm. The British Navy took only 8010 of these out of a total production 9300, the bulk of which went to the Navy. However, this one is extremely rare, as it is Royal Marines marked on the front grip and Navy on the slide. This 107-year-old British military icon served in two great wars. The gun has about 80-85% of the original factory blue. There is the usual muzzle and sharp edge silvering with several small areas of pin pricks and some surface flaking. Nothing really detrimental to it's impressive size and rarity. It appears to be mostly from holster wear.
All external parts match. The black Bakelite grip panels are perfect, no splits, chips or flattened points. The grip screws likewise. The feed ramp, slide rails and bolt face show little if any use. The bore is super bright with razor sharp rifling. This indicates very little if any use. It comes with one correct .455 magazine. For the collector/investor, when was the last time you saw one of these big .455 automatics? Let alone with Royal Marines and Navy markings. Only..... Shipped...... $2495.***
