SOLD This Belgian 12ga hammer shotgun was made 1870 to 1880 for black powder and is a wall hanger as the 30"long Twist steel Belgium barrels have moderate pitting mostly in the right tube. Choked at MOD and IC. The barrels have speckled patina and will clean better with copper or bronze wool and oil. Barrels are a little loose fit to frame , so this is for hanging. Hammers work and are matched but the right side of the frame has a broken firing pin. This gun has seen lots of miles and the side plates squared up are cheisel engraved, never seen this style of side plates/ The European hardwood stock are complete, with thinned hand checkering. The stock has a burn mark up at the top of the comb, and lightly scratched into the wood on the rigth side is someone initials, but they could be sanded out. So if you need a mantle hanger and want to improve the looks , with some time and skill this hammer gun can look much better than it is now.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
