Description:
For sale is Bertha Mae, my Model 1942 6 pounder, complete with her Limber, ‘Bert’ and all the accoutrements to fire her, along with a log book of all firings at the re-enactments and engagements in which she participated for about 10 years, prior to my purchase.
Interesting, the very last entry in the log book say “cannon wheels about shot”. I had them replaced by an Amish Firm that specializes in making 100% correct, reproduction cannon Carriages and Limbers. Look at the pictures, all this cannon needs is for you to assemble your team of gunners and hitch up your horses!

Honestly this is a complete, ready to go cannon set. The National Parks registration book lists this as a reproduction, but the log book makes note of various serial numbers and even a comment about the cascabel showing signs of having been vandalized and/or damaged in battle. Getting an authentic tube certified for use but National Parks is complicated. Perhaps, someone took a shortcut. However, i am selling it - and pricing it - as a reproduction.

By the way, like many cannons during the Civil War, this one traded sides - starting out as a CS Alabama Battery and ending its re-enactment wartime history with the US, 1st Ohio Artillery, Company “G”. Since then it has only been used to salute holidays and celebrate the opening of the the pheasant season at my farm in Virginia.

Priced at a modest (and firm) $32,300
Pick up is recommended, but shipping can be arranged (~$2 -$2,500)
