Description:
CLASSIC 1894 OCTAGON RIFLE, .30 WCF, #394XXX, MADE 1907. This used, but well cared for 1894 rifle came out of Helena, Montana. I’m sure there are a lot of good stories kept secret within this one! Barrel and mag tube show fine and deep lightly aged blue, exc. markings. The receiver is mostly an attractive uncleaned gray/brown with some aged blue in the protected areas and nice blue on the loading gate. It is fitted with a very heavy full buckhorn “D. W. King” marked rear sight with elevator bar intact and a Marble “Sheard” marked Rocky Mountain blade front sight with bead. Excellent forearm with three shallow “kill notches” visible on the rear right side ahead of the receiver. Butt stock shows a little weathering as if it might have ridden exposed in a saddle scabbard (which it probably did). Very tight wood to metal fit. Exc. bore, tight action. A really handsome Montana used Winchester.
