LONG-BARRELED J. STEVENS & Company New Model Number 40 C&R “POCKET RIFLE”
With Matching Shoulder Stock!
Here we present an antique J. Stevens & Company Pocket Rifle, manufactured around the turn of the century in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts. About 15,000 of these pocket rifles were produced between 1896 and 1916. This pistol was considered one of the most accurate target pistols of the day and comes with the original attachable wire stock. It features an 11-7/8 inch bull barrel and a weighted pommel for balance. The action is single action only with a crisp trigger.
The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The bore is in good shape with thin rifling. The slider on the rear sight is absent. Here is a fun little Stevens pocket rifle that would have been fun for plinking or hunting small game.
