SOLD...REDUCED PRICE !!!!! Excellent 3rd Model Colt Thuer Single Shot Derringer British Proofed.. This is an excellent example of the very popular Colt Derringer. Caliber is the .41 rim fire. Has the standard 2 1/2” barrel. S/N is 44616 with matching numbers on both grips inside. This little gun has quite a bit of the original finish. The barrel has 75% finish. Just has some flaking at the end of the muzzle and the breech end by the barrel address as you can see very clearly. Nice very light brown patina where the nickel has flaked and no pitting anywhere. The frame has 99.9% original finish. You can just barely see a tiny bit of bronze showing through at the very front bottom rounded area on the frame at the sharp edge. You have to look very hard to even see it …... I could not even get a good picture of it.... The screw heads and ends still showing nice fire blue on most of them. Nice fire blue on the trigger also and a little on the hammer... All the markings are excellent including British proof markings on the bottom of the barrel as you can see.. The breech end of the barrel is NOT all burred up from the firing pin hitting it do to improper opening and close of the barrel as is so common on even high condition ones.. Just has one very tiny ding as you can see in the very close up photo.. The mechanics are all excellent. The hammer notches are perfect and positive. The opening and closing of the barrel is tight as a new gun. The extractor snap open freely and is not frozen in place.. This gun is mechanically like new. The grips are great with 90% varnish still showing. NO cracks or chips and a perfect snap on factory fit and numbered inside to the gun. Just showing some minor dings and scratches from pocket carrying. Small minor dings on the butt of the metal as you can see. Excellent front sight... The bore is very good with strong rifling and just minor roughness. Not shot out or pitted out at all like most of these you will find. About all I can say about this one. Just an excellent Colt Derringer at a reasonable price. Never cleaned on or messed with..
