A PERCUSSION HAMMER for a U.S. MODEL 1863 RIFLED MUSKET. This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE PART, made in the 1860's, probably during the American Civil War. The spur is knurled within a shield shape, and it is stamped on the inside with an "M", most likely an inspector's stamp of approval.
