Remington 870 Wingmaster Matched Pair Skeet Set #409
On behalf of a late fellow shooter and friend I am posting this Matched Pair #409 of Remington Model 870 Wingmasters in 28ga and 410 bore. Please contact Mr. Stevens at 816-835-2131 or email him at russstevens121gmail for any additional questions and to arrange payment.
We are offering this somewhat scarce Remington Matched Pair Skeet set #409. These are not to be confused with the far lessor 870 express or vanilla 870 models. These are Winemasters, and as such were made to shoot competitive skeet matches with. Starting with the .410 bore Matched Pair Serial # S045340H we find a shotgun with a great majority of the original blue intact and bright. There is some minor light frost on the bottom of the receiver. There are some speckles on the top of the receiver. The 26” barrel is factory ventilated and fix choked Skeet. The barrel has a few similar blemishes on its exterior, left side and top of rib just forward of receiver and a small and the middle bead has been removed but the threads are fine. Bore is good. Shotgun functions fine, the butt stock and forened have a few handling marks and dings target guns always acquire these character marks. No cracks or splits. Both of these guns came with magazine tube weights that the shooter could add lead to make them weigh exactly the same as each other.
The 28-gauge Matched Pair #409 bears serial #S056443J exhibiting far less wear is in a good bit better condition that her sister. Likely due to the availability of ammo. The factory 26-inch ventilated barrel is very nice no visible issues in the bore. It is fix choked Skeet. But again, we find the middle bead removed with threads fine. There is some very faint rust and freckles on the rib toward the muzzle. Receiver has minimal cosmetic issues one or two freckles on the round ed top of the receiver. Again we find the wood set on this one to be in better shape but a few minor nicks and dings. No cracks or splits.
