Payment Types Accepted: check, credit card, layaway Description: An original antique engraved 1851 Navy percussion revolver with beautiful mellowed ivory grips. This is a middle third model gun with a small trigger guard. It was made in 1853. It is engraved with a tight scroll pattern and the head of a bear on the left barrel lug, it also has a wolf or dog's head on each side of the hammer probably engraved by Gustave Young or in his shop. CONDITION: Barrel retains some original blue with almost 90% on the lower barrel flat under the lever with about 30% on the 2 adjacent lower flats. Brass triggergaurd shows approx. 20% original heavy silver plate. Backstrap with approx. 10 % silver in protected areas. The loading lever shows traces of case hardening. The cylinder has no original blue but almost a full scene. There is a slight drag line about 1/4 inch back from the front of cylinder. The frame retains good traces of case hardening. Serial numbers match including the wedge, loading lever and cylinder arbor. Old ivory grips show a very nice mellow color. The action is tight and crisp as new and the bore is excellent with sharp rifling. Blade front sight added during period of use.
