Description:
Winchester Model of 1873 Deluxe Sporting Rifle with Special Order 26 inch factory octagon barrel. The serial number of this example is 1079XX placing date of manufacture in 1882(letters with Cody). Overall condition is fine with the barrel and magazine retaining 90-95% of the original untouched factory finish just starting to tone. The bore is near perfect with shine from breech to muzzle. The rifling is strong and will rate a 9.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. The rear sight is a three leaf express rifle with platinum inserts. The receiver is case hardened with case colors faded and mostly silvered out. The loading gate has retained 60% of the original factory "fire blue". The brass follower is untouched with a very nice marbled muster patina. Wood to metal fit is perfect with 90% of the original factory varnish. The 2017 Blue Book of Gun Values indicates this rifles value at $32500.00 at 60% pg. 2202. Incredible way above average Deluxe 1873 priced to sell.
