Truly exceptional and rare L.C. Smith 5E 16ga and the finest I have seen. This gun made in mid 1899 with 28" factory original Whitworth barrels. The gun is beautifully appointed with its original push button splinter forend and Prince of Wales buttstock that has its original BP. The gun is superbly and richly engraved in the early Grade 5 pattern, most likely executed by A.E. Spangler. The depth of the game scene and quality of the detail in the engraving is as good as I have seen on any L.C. Smith. The stock is richly figured as well. Overall, the gun remains in superb condition. The barrels retain nearly all of their plum brown barrel blue. The case colors are rich and vibrant at more than 90%. Stocks are excellent and sound and retain nearly all of their finish. The gun appears to be an absolute gem. This is undoubtedly the best 5E 16ga I have come across and the original Whitworth barrels make this already rare gun, unique! This gun is priced at $27,500 shipped to your FFL. Please dont hesitate to contact me with any questions at (704) 280-2382 or via PM on this site. SOLD Manufacturer: L.C.
