This is a Spanish Mauser M1943 Rifle, chambered in 8mm Mauser. It was made at the La Coruna Arsenal in Spain in the 1950's. The design is based on the German K98. There were about 10,000 of these made and there seems to be little known about them. Overall, this gun is in excellent condition. It has been refinished. There are no import marks. The floor plate is mismatched. This gun is in a sniper configuration and comes with a very nice, very clear German export scope. We have been told that the scope mounts are period and could be correct for this gun. The bore has good rifling, but there is some light frosting. It comes with a green canvas sling.
