Description:
This is an original 1943 production M1 Garand rifle. The rifle has a U.S. department of defense stamped stock, as shown by the eagle with 3 stars cartouche on the left side of the wood. This replacement would have been done as part of the Dept of Defense in the 1950s. The metal is all original though and in great condition. There's some very light edge discoloration on the receiver, and some minor finish loss near the muzzle, but no major issues nor any rust or pitting. Mechanically sound with a beautiful bore that rates 9/10. The metal overall rates around 95%, and the wood has very minimal wear as well. There is one very small crack where the forward-end of the receiver meets the upper hand guard. Otherwise, no major scratches, cracks, or chips. Comes with an unmarked canvas sling.
