Description:
Standard Late M1930 Commercial with 5.5” barrel and slip in 50-1000 rear sight. Short extractor and universal safety. Top of chamber marked with three line Mauser address. Crown C/C/U proof on left chamber flat. Full serial number on barrel extension behind sight. Left side of frame with the large Mauser banner. Three line Mauser address on right frame that includes “D.R.P.u.A.P. As typical for late production guns, virtually all components are salt blued except for the grip screw that is fire blued. Broadly serrated walnut grips. Lanyard ring present. Accompanied by correct unnumbered Mauser banner stock having late lug with squared shoulders.
Condition: C96 is in vg-exc original condition with better than 95% salt blue. Expected wear under barrel, in front of magazine well, on each side of the rails where in contact with the stock, and the usual fine scratches around the plunger in the floorplate. Front strap shows little wear; backstrap with thinning around slot and scattered shatter marks as photographed. Grips have most varnish with scattered handling dings. Bright, mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. Comparable condition shoulder stock with indentations on front from carrier hardware and thinning below hinge-loop corresponding to retaining leather strap. No discernable cracks or freshening of the small parts. Overall, a near excellent M1930 Commercial with correct, nicely fitting stock.
