Description:
COLONIAL ERA HALBERD CIRCA 1600-50. Probably Dutch with a “WW” maker’s touchmark stamped on the blade. Type that might have been used in Colonial New York under the Dutch. 97” overall with 28” head. Blades with cutout “ACORN” design. Very old haft with wine colored velvet cover and braided tassel work. Fine condition with the haft having a crack near the middle where it may have been separated for ease of shipping. Easily fixed if one so desired. Very fine example and quite scarce.
