Boxlocks - Beesley is a very old and respected name in the London gun trade. Frederick started his apprenticeship at William Moore & Grey where I am sure he worked with many of the gun makers from Joseph Manton. Men that helped begin the making of high end and quality double guns. Frederick Beesley is most famous for being the inventor of the self opening mechanism that Purdey adopted in around 1880 and and is still in use by them today.
