Description:
For your consideration is an excellent condition 1943 Colt M1911A1 that is an excellent range pistol or is perfect for a WWII re-enactor or a more affordable option for a WWII display or impression.
This pistol was produced in 1943 at the height of WWII & was subsequently exported to Brazil post-war. At some point the pistol was re-imported to the US & someone took great care to buff the import marks from the pistol but some traces remain. I have provided close-ups for full disclosure. The markings are barely visible to the naked eye. The markings are all on the left side – the remnants of the Brazil eagle & banner above the serial number/US Property mark, on the backside of the grip near the crossed cannons & forward of the left grip along the front strap.
This was my very first 1911 & I have had it for 25+ years & the pistol is an outstanding shooter. In all that time I have not had any issues. The pistol is tight & mechanically sound. Bore is clean & bright with strong rifling. I have decided to sell this war horse to fund a different project.
Simply a great shooter.
Pistol includes a post-war parkerized magazine that originally came with the pistol & matches quite well. Also comes with the vintage Boyt soft case that has been with the pistol for many years.
Priced at $1575 which is about 50% of a collectible 1943 M1911A1 but I am open to all reasonable offers & negotiations.
