GREAT CONDITION AND SUPER RARE TARGET .32 NEW POLICE (.32 S&W LONG) CALIBER POLICE POSITIVE REVOLVER, #208XXX, MADE 1924. All target sighted Colt and S&W .32 caliber revolvers are scarce and seldom encountered. Nearly all of the Colt Police Positive target models were in .22 rim fire caliber with very few made in .32 center fire. This is an outstanding example…except for the grips which are some kind of synthetic thumb rest target type. Fortunately, Police Positive grips are easy to find and not overly expensive. This one retains nearly all the original deep Colt blue with nice fire blue on the hammer back and trigger. All markings are sharp and clear including the important left side of the barrel stamping “POLICE POSITIVE-.32 POLICE CTG.” The last patent date of the barrel top is 1905. About the only blue wear is just a touch at each side of the muzzle. Excellent mechanics with very tight lock-up, crisp trigger pull and minty bright bore! Really hard to find especially in this outstanding condition.
