This is another Ranch carbine from Montana. Winchester 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine .38-55. The serial number of this example is 6406XX placing date of manufacture in 1912. Overall condition is good to very good with most of the original finish toned to a gray / blue patina. The bore is shiny with worn rifling. The bore is good and very shootable and should clean up with a soaking and good scrubbing. The bore will rate a 6 on a 1 to 10 scale. The Gum Wood Stock has been lightly sanded with good wood to metal fit. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Will make a good little shooter / brush Gun.
