Description:
Winchester Model 1873 Third Model Sporting Rifle .38-40. The serial number of this example is 215820 placing date of manufacture in 1886. This rifle was special ordered with a Case Colored Receiver and Shotgun Butt. Overall condition is very good with the receivers case colors silvered out. The barre and magazine have toned to a very nice even blue / grey. The bore is near perfect. The rifling is strong with a shiny bore. The bore will rate a 10 on a 1 to scale. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect with 90% of the original factory varnish remaining. Very nice collector.
