Description:
Group of Historical Items once belonging to U.S. Indian Agent John B. Parker; These items are from the early pioneer families of Parker and Swift. The Parkers were early pioneers, while the Swifts were Native American Indians. All of these items were the collection of the U.S. Indian Agent from Rock Boy, Montana. His name is on the Kerchief Holder. These items include: (1) An early Merwin & Hulbert, Single Action Revolver, .44MH caliber, Serial No. 1953, nickel finish, 7” barrel, two piece early elephant ivory grips with lanyard. Mechanically sound, good bore, top of the barrel marked “Revolvers System / Merwin Hulbert / Pat., 15 Nov., 81 / 19 Sept. 83”. Retaining majority of its nickel finish, showing some flaking with most finish loss on both sides of the frame. (2) A Silver Badge, 2” circle star marked “DEPUTY SPECIAL OFFICER / INDIAN SERVICE / U.S.” Hallmarked “SACHS-LAWLOR / M&M CO., DENVER, COLO.” (3) Vintage, Double Loop Spotted Holster for a 7 – 7 ½” Revolver. (4) An ornate Silver Kerchief Holder with “John B. Parker” engraved on front, engraved on back “September 18, 1867”. (5) 1 ¾” x 2” Tin Type believed to be John B. Parker. These items will be accompanied by a copy of a signed affidavit by family member of Edith Stearns (Parker).
