Description:
This Rogers & Spencer revolver remains in very fine, original condition. The top of frame is marked ROGERS & SPENCER UTICA,NY. The actions are excellent. Bore has strong rifling with some vary minor scattered peppering. All markings are present and serial numbers match throughout 14xx. Sub-insections are found on nearly all the parts including the underside of both grips. A near perfect inspectors cartouche can been seen on the left grip. The original grips are excellent and have only one very tiny chip on the very front of the left grip. The barrel retains around 75% bright original blue, frame around 60%. The cylinder hasa mixed blue/plumb blue appearance. The loading lever and hammer have subdued case colors. The barrel has some mars on the edges as can be seen in pics. Overall revolver measures 14 1/4" with a 7 1/2" barrel. Around 5000 of the US Martial revolvers were manufactured in 1865. Overall a great looking example of this scarce Civil War era percussion revolver.
