Description:
This Remington New Model Army Revolver remaisn in very fine condition. Both barrel and frame have NJ stampings for the State of New Jersey. All markings are present and sub-inspections can be found on most parts. The serial number 71xxx is matching on barrel, frame and penciled on inside of grips.The rear of cylinder is not numbered as with many remington revolvers and just has a small sub-inspection. The actions are crisp and tight. Bore has strong rifling with a little minor scattered peppering. The original wood grips are very fine and show a few tiny chips. The hammer shows around 50% of its case color. Barrel retains around 85% bright blue. Cylinder shows around 65-70% blue. The frame blue has softened to mostly a blue/plumb blue mixture. Pistol overall still shows a nice even appearance and is a real crisp and clean example. Revolver measures 14 1/2" with a 8" barrel.
