Description:
Colt Model 1851 Navy fitted with a 7 1/2 inch octagon barrel, one-piece walnut grips, blue/color case-hardened/silver plated finished, and .36 Cal. percussion. This 1851 vintage Colt Navy is in very good condition, retaining traces of blue on the barrel and cylinder with most having turned a lovely grey patina. The frame and barrel is all matching and the hammer still retains a nice fireblue. The trigger guard and backstrap still retains 40% of the original sliver plate finish. The bore is excellent for a revolver of this age, with strong rifling and very, very faint pitting. The action functions well with a tight lockup and excellent operation. The grips fit well, but have been varnished at some point is its lifetime. If your in the market for a Civil War era pistol, this would be a excellent choice for the condition its in and would make a wonderful addition to a collection.
