Description:
Winchester Model of 1876 Sporting Rifle with factory 28 inch .45-70wcf. with Mid Range Vernier Peep Sight and Marbles Combination front sight with Ivory Bead. The serial number of this example is 507XX placing date of manufacture in 1884. Overall condition is fine with the Barrel and Magazine retaining 50-60% of the original factory blue. The bore is perfect and will rate a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale. Bore is bright and shiny from breech too muzzle. The rifling is strong and void of any damage, well cared for 1876. The receiver has retained 50-60% of its original factory blue with a tight, smooth and mechanically perfect action. The Brass Follower is untouched with a very nice even mustard/marbled patina. Wood to metal fit is perfect with 75% of the original factory varnish. Very nice well cared for "Third Model" 1876.
