Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: The Webley Mark IV was one of a series of .455 inch caliber Webley revolvers which were the standard issue pistols of the British Army from 1887 onwards. They were robust and powerful weapons, which gave excellent service until replaced by the handier Enfield No 2 revolver in 1932. Known as the "Boer War Model" where this revolver first saw action, the Mark IV is the first of the Webley revolvers chambered for the smokless .455 ammo. These were still in service during the begining of World War 1. Many a British "Tommy" carried a Mark IV Webley during trench raids of WW1. This Mark IV is all matching and is in excellent condition. It retains over 90% of its original bluing and still features the original birds head rubber grips. The bore is bright with strong rifling and the action functions perfectly. The cylinder has been decked on this Webley as was common practice during Second World War where once again the the battle proven Mark IV was put back to work. This time in the hands of the British Home Guard who carried the revolvers loaded with a lightly loaded .45 acp cartridge. This is an excellent Webley revolver and would be perfect in any WW1 or WW2 collection. SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: Webley Model: Mark IV Caliber Info: .455/.45acp |
