**EARLY~VINTAGE**SMITH & WESSON Centennial 38sp. 1952 Bright Blue in Box Description: SMITH & WESSON ( PRE- Model 40) Centennial 38sp. SER.# 77XX The Smith & Wesson Centennial, is a double - action - only revolver with a completely concealed hammer. This compact revolver also features a 2-inch (50.8mm) pinned barrel, a "lemon squeezer" type grip safety and a 5-shot cylinder. Flat serrated latch. It has a beautifully bright Blue finish, with some minor dings, light scratches & edge wear..& light drag line on the cylinder ~. maybe 90- 95% (GREAT OVERALL CONDITION FOR A 68 YEAR OLD GUN!) The Centennial was introduced in 1952 and became the Model 40 in 1955. . This specimen, has smooth vintage ivory grips, is in Super nice condition save for the fact that one of the grips could use a little fitting to the frame & has tiny crack on edge of SW Medallion.. This gun comes with aS&W 2-piece Blue & Silver 3 ring box . The box is firm & Warranty card (not filled out) is also included. As seen in the many highly detailed photos the condition of this piece is Very Good to Excellent with only minor indications of consumer use and handling.Of course photographing this beauty was difficult due to the highly reflective nature of the high polished Blue finish.
