Description:
Winchester Model 1873 Deluxe Sporting Rifle .44-40. The serial number of this example is 1706XX placing date of manufacture in 1884. Overall condition is very good with most of the original factory finish toned to a very nice even patina. The bore is very good with strong rifling and shine from breech to muzzle. The bore has lite scattered pitting as expected for an early black powder firearm. The bore and rifling will rate a 7+ on a 1 to 10 scale. The case colored receiver has silvered out and is starting to tone to a very nice even patina. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect with 75% of the original factory varnish. Nice untouched third Model 1873 priced to sell.
