Description:
Winchester Model 1876 First Model Open Top .45-75wcf. The serial number of this example is 485X placing date of manufacture in 1878. Overall condition is fine with 60-65% of the original Factory Rust Blue finish. The bore has shine and all the rifling appears to be present with lots of fouling as found in these very early black powder firearms. The bore will rate a 6 on a 1 to 10 scale. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect with 75% of the original factory varnish. It is very rare you find this early example of an 1876 rifle in this condition. Most were considered tools and saw very hard use.
