U.S. Harpers Ferry Model 1816 Converted Musket. Converted to percussion with the “bolster” method. Metal has a dark grey/ brown patina. Wood is good, shows usage and handling wear. Faint inspector marks are visible by the side plate. These muskets saw heavy service at the beginning of the Civil War. This one looks like it has seen some action!
