Here’s a Ralph Grant single shot 4 bore in excellent condition. The barrel is marked Ralph Grant 4 bore
Leicester, England. The gun carries Italian proof marks and the date code says 1986. This is a modern
manufactured gun proofed for 4 bore with a 4” chamber. Ralph Grant was a sporting goods dealer who
specialized in large bore water fowling guns. They had the gun made in Italy for retail in the U.K. I don’t
know how it got to this country as there are no import marks. When I purchased the gun, the seller stated
that after much research they determined that this was the only one in this country. The gun has a
barrel length of 43 5/16” and features a color case hardened frame with border engraving. The weight
is 14 lbs., 15 oz. and the length of pull is 14 13/16”. The wood is in excellent condition. There are a
couple of small handling marks that look like safe dings one in the stock and one in the forend, very
minor. The bluing on the barrel is almost perfect. The bore is like new. The gun has been shot but not
very much! Here’s a great chance to own a very unique, perfectly safe to shoot, modern 4 bore.
