Remington 1100 Skeet Set Matched Pair #3748
On behalf of a friend and recently passed fellow shooter, Mr. Stevens and I are posting for sale this Matched Pair #3748 of the Remington Model 1100 Competition Skeet guns in 28ga and 410 bore. We are offering this pair of quite scarce Remington 1100 Skeet Set, Matched Pair #3748. These are not to be confused with any of the standard 1100, 1100 Express or other vanilla 1100 models. These are the Matched Competition Skeet Guns, and as such were made and tuned to shoot competitive skeet matches with. The later pairs were given a few cosmetic upgrades that also improved their suitability for competition. Namely the fine mate blue finish applied to the tops of the receiver to address the glare when shooting. Please not the lack of wear on the exterior of the magazine tubes, the shell carrier and bolt. These guns were not shot a significant amount at all.
Let us start with my favorite, the .410 bore Matched Pair # 3748 we have Serial # L157670H we find a shotgun with approximately 96-98% of its original factory bluing just as it left the factory. The 26” barrel chambered for the 2.5-inch skeet loading. It is factory ventilated and fix choked, Skeet. The barrel has an insignificant trace of frost on the rib just back of the middle bead. It is almost invisible. Bore is excellent. This shotgun functions perfect, the butt stock is virtually flawless except for the toe of the Kick Eez pad that simply just flaked off. A used pad will be sent that can be fitted to the gun. LOP is 14.75. Again, the butt stock wood is near perfect. The forend has a couple small dings from safe storage that any decent stock guy could repair and refinish. No cracks or splits. Both of these guns came with magazine tube weights that the shooter could add lead to make them weigh exactly the same as each other. Please not the lack of wear on the exterior of the magazine tubes, the shell carrier and bolt. These guns were not shot a significant amount.
The 28-gauge Matched Pair #3748 bears serial #L154499J and is exhibiting far less of the .410 bores minimal wear. It is in even better condition that its little sister. Likely due to the lack of availability and higher cost of 28-gauge ammo. The factory 26-inch ventilated barrel is excellent no visible issues in the bore or exterior. It is fix choked Skeet and chambered for 2.75-inch shells. Receiver has only the most minimal cosmetic issues one or two thin spots on the matte finished rounded top of the receiver. Again, we find the wood set on this one to be in excellent shape but a few minor impressions that don’t even break the poly finish. No cracks or splits. LOP is again 14.75 inches.
The gold treatment in the engraved “Matched Pair No 3748” is mostly gone from both guns but Hobby Lobby sells the gold fine point pens to restore this minor deficiency. This is a very fine set of Matched Pair Skeet guns. There was a time these were THE guns. They are still awesome and some of the most fun you can have with your clothes still on.
Payment: Only Cash, US Postal Money Order or Certified Check. Bank Checks/Certified Checks will be held until they clear both institutions. US Postal Money Orders Ship same or next day with tracking. To protect the finnish and value these will be packed in a double rifle case and in sleeves. Because of the extra weight and packing Shipping will be $70.00 to your local FFL. It is preferred that YOUR FFL accept these firearms from an individual with bill of sale and a copy of Mr. Stevens state issued valid identification. Other wise $50.00 for them to pass through our local FFL. Local sale is OK with valid state issued ID and cash.
