Listing a Winchester model 1895 saddle ring carbine , the 30- govt - 06 , more commonly called the 30/06, the 1895 had a box magazine in a lever action designed by John Browning , capabile of loading and shooting a pointed ( Spitzer ) style bullet.a very strong action, can be loaded with a stripper clip.sports the standard carbine barrel of 22 inch length, sling swivels and sports a Climbing Lyman , type 38 peep sight. Has the folding ladder receiver sight , small old repair at corner of right tang,looks to be amateur work I was always going to have it done right but didn't. Mfg'd in 1924 with 411774 serial number makes it C&R eligible . I took a good number of pictures in out door light .these are kinda on the rare side, has a lot of original finish on barrel and underlaying areas. Wood is excellent other than the small repair I mentioned. Looks as if it had a rear tang peep before installing the Lyman. These side mount 38's can go for $600. very good adjustable , up , down, left, right , peep is next to a scope , any of you fellow veterans know that. I'll ship and insure for my asking price.
